October 22, 2007 was historic day for Mahima Shiksha Samiti, the sponsoring body of Jaipur National University, and for the Seedling Institution of Higher Education, when the Government of Rajasthan announced the establishment of the University. Within a few months, after its formation, the University got approvals and recognitions from all statutory national bodies, including the University Grants Commission (UGC), under the Clause 2(f) of the UGC Act of 1956. Jaipur National University is the first NAAC accredited self-financed University in the state. The School of Distance Education and Learning received recognition of its programmes from Distance Education Council of IGNOU and the Joint Committee of the UGC-AICTE-DEC for offering certain programmes through Distance Education mode. Besides these mandatory recognitions, the University has earned trust and goodwill of the aspiring students, parents, public and the similar concerned agencies, mainly due to firm schedules of examination, delivering of quality Self Learning Material and efficient student support services. The university is also a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

Recently in a country wide survey the India today magazine has ranked the university among the top 30

The University has devised remedial courses, advisory system, and effective teacher student interaction, with a view to upgrade the skills of the students.
